Foodsage is an ingredient checker built for people who react to what they eat. Food sensitivities rarely announce themselves on the front of a package — they hide in emulsifiers, thickeners, preservatives, flavour carriers, and the additives that keep shelf-stable food shelf-stable. Foodsage reads the full ingredient panel from a barcode or photo and tells you, in plain language, which components are commonly linked to intolerance, inflammation, or gut irritation.
The app is designed around autoimmune and elimination-style eating. You set the ingredients and ingredient families you are avoiding, and every scan is graded against your own profile rather than a generic health score. Over time, Foodsage surfaces patterns across the products you scan most often, so you can see which additives keep appearing in your basket and swap them for cleaner alternatives that fit the same role in your kitchen.
Foodsage is one of three consumer apps built by MetricPoint, alongside SafaScan for halal verification and LabelBaby for infant and toddler nutrition. All three run on the same food intelligence engine and the same public and licensed ingredient datasets, and all three are available to employees through the MetricPoint employer wellness suite.
