Our promise
MetricPoint is built around trust. We bundle three apps — Foodsage, SafaScan, and LabelBaby — into a single employer benefit. Across all three, we collect the minimum data needed to deliver personalized ingredient and product safety insights, and we never sell it.
MetricPoint is not a covered entity under HIPAA. Dietary, religious, and allergen profiles you set are treated as preferences, not medical records.
What we collect
- Account data — your email and (optionally) name when you sign in with email, Apple, or Google.
- Employer access — the company access code you enter to unlock the benefit, used to associate your account with your employer's plan. We do not share individual usage with your employer.
- Profile preferences — dietary sensitivities (Foodsage), madhab and notification preferences (SafaScan), baby age range and allergens (LabelBaby).
- Scan data — barcodes, label photos, and verdicts. Saved to your account so your history syncs across devices.
- Device data — anonymous diagnostics (crash logs, OS/app version) used to improve stability.
What the camera does (and doesn't)
Our scanners use your camera to read barcodes and label text on-device. For label scans, the captured image is sent to our AI engine for ingredient extraction and then discarded after processing — we don't store raw photos against your profile, and we never record video.
How we use your data
- Return verdicts, allergen warnings, and ingredient explanations.
- Sync your saved items and preferences across devices.
- Send opt-in notifications: FDA recall alerts (LabelBaby — never throttled), reminders (SafaScan — max 3/week), and engagement updates (Foodsage).
- Improve verdict accuracy and product coverage.
- Report anonymous, aggregate engagement to your HR contact.
What your employer sees
Your employer receives a monthly aggregate engagement summary — total installs, total scans, % of workforce active. They never see which apps you use, what you scan, your dietary or religious preferences, or any individual identifiers. Per-seat tracking is structurally not part of MetricPoint.
AI processing
Ingredient explanations and label extraction use AI providers (including GPT-class models). We send only the ingredient text and product context required for the response. No account identifiers, employer info, or personal profile data are included in those requests.
Subscriptions and payments
Your employer pays for your access. If you choose to add a personal subscription beyond the employer benefit, payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never see your card details.
Data storage and security
Data is stored in encrypted cloud infrastructure (TLS in transit, AES at rest). Access is restricted to a small operational team under strict audit controls. We retain data only as long as your account is active, plus a short period for backups and legal compliance.
Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from in-app Settings, or by emailing privacy@sothesllc.com. If you're an EU/UK or California resident, you also have the rights described under GDPR/UK-GDPR and the CCPA — including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local authority.
Children
MetricPoint apps are not directed at children under 13. LabelBaby is built for parents and caregivers; baby profile data describes the child's products, not the child themselves.
Changes to this policy
We'll notify you in-app and by email at least 14 days before any material change to this policy.
